Q. Can I hire my own vendors (caterer, coordinator, DJ, etc.), or must I select from a preferred vendor list?

A. Wanderlust Okto provides a preferred vendor list. We strongly encourage but do not require you to select vendors from our preferred list. All listed vendors have performed multiple weddings at our facility and we are confident they will deliver the level of service you deserve and expect. However, we allow you to choose vendors that are not on our preferred list. The venue will NOT be responsible for the failure of outside vendors to fulfill their contracts. If an outside vendor is used, a separate form will need to be filed with us. This form protects Wanderlust Okto from being mentioned in complaints or in the use of any source of public reviews.

Q. How does booking work?

A. Dates are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tentative holds are allowed for a 72-hour period for reviewing the contract; once the 72-hour period has expired, the hold is released. To secure a date, Wanderlust Okto must receive a completed and signed contract and 25% deposit of the final rental fee. Verbal agreements do not stand; reserved dates are only guaranteed with both the signed contract and deposit.

Q. Can I have both my ceremony and reception indoors?

A. Yes for the Okto Barn, however receptions that exceed 100 people will require at least a partial space flip after the ceremony. The Wanderlust Barn porch can be used for cocktail hour after the ceremony in order to accommodate the space flip.

Q. What if I have over 200 guests?

A. Per our building occupancy load, events must not exceed 200 guests. Events exceeding 200 guests is against our occupancy load and would pose safety concerns in the case of a fire or emergency situation. An overage of guests also critically compromises the quality of the event. If an event exceeds the maximum headcount, our staff will count heads of arriving guests until the number is met and any additional guests will be turned away at the door.

Q. How many hours does the (wedding) rental fee reserve the space?

Wedding rental reservations include 12 hours of use of our space. Evening events have a standard rental start time of 11am and must end no later than midnight. If you prefer, you can shift your rental time-slot, for example- 10am-10pm.

Q. Do you offer payment plans?
A. Yes, Wanderlust Okto divides the total rental fee into 4 equal payments due on the following schedule: 25% at booking and the remaining installments at 180, 90, and 30 days prior to the event. If necessary, we will do our best to create a customized payment plan that fits your specific needs.

Q. Do you offer discounts?

A. Yes, Wanderlust Okto offers multiple ways to save money and secure your dream wedding venue at a lower cost. We call it the 5-10-20 Rule. Reservations that are “paid in full” receive a 5% discount. Clients who are active military are eligible to receive 10% off. And lastly, Weddings taking place in June, July, and August are 20% off. With the exception of Paid in Full, discounts cannot be “stacked” and clients will receive the greater of the two discounts if eligible for more than one offer. The discount program is applicable to Corporate, or Private Party event packages.

Q. Are both of your barns climate controlled?

A. The larger barn is climate controlled while the smaller Barn is covered but does not include climate control. The Okto Barn facility offers multiple zones of central heating and air, ensuring the temperature is just right for you and your guests year-round. Furthermore, the Okto Barn at Wanderlust Okto is equipped with a full commercial standby generator that will run all critical circuits as well as heating and cooling needs in the event of a power outage.

Q. What other taxes or service fees is the renter responsible for?

A. None, all of our fees are included in the price quoted. We do not have any hidden fees. Wanderlust Okto takes care of the taxes, nor do we charge a credit card fee (We want you to earn those extra points or miles for your honeymoon!). Wanderlust Okto also does not require a damage deposit.

Q. Are we responsible for tables, chairs, linens, silverware or plates?

A. Wanderlust Okto will provide up to 200 tables, indoor chairs and outdoor chairs for use included in the rental price. We do not provide linens, silverware or plates.

Q. Can I bring my dog(s)?

A. For the safety of guests and wildlife, Wanderlust Okto does NOT allow pets of any kind.

Q. What are the restrictions on decor? What is the policy on candles?

A. Wanderlust Okto allows the use of nails by approval, however, decorations may not be hung by staples or screws. The only adhesive material allowed on the walls, floors, or wood pillars is stage/drafting/painters’ tape or gaffers tape. All other decorations must be freestanding. No glitter is allowed. You may utilize candles as long as they are enclosed in glass and the flame does not reach higher than 2” below the height of the glass. Confetti, rice, bird seeds, balloons, or wish lanterns are permitted. Fireworks are permitted with a permit. Approval for the use of fireworks is fully dependent on our vendor.

Q. Do you offer on-site wedding coordination? If so, what services are included and is there an additional charge for them? How much assistance can I get with the setup/ décor?

A. Wanderlust Okto offers day-of coordination packages as an add-on service. Our venue coordinators are in-house trained professionals, ready to take care of all of your day-of-event needs. Please reach out to our Director of Events to see how we may be of assistance on your wedding day.

Q. Can we rehearse at Wanderlust Okto?

A. Yes, the rental fee includes a 60-minute rehearsal time. Rehearsal times are based on venue availability. Your rehearsal day/time will be confirmed 30 days prior to your event.

Q. Is there somewhere for the groomsmen and bridesmaids to get ready?

A. Yes, the estate is rented with the property and can be used as dressing rooms for the bride and bridesmaids. Each Bedroom is equipped with Bluetooth speakers and Amazon Alexa integration with Spotify.

Q. Are there extras charges for cleanup or are there expectations for us to handle clean up on our own?

A. Set up and breakdown of tables/chairs are included in the price. The only thing that we ask is that all items brought in by you, your vendors, or your guests (ie decor) be removed from the facility and grounds by the end of your rental period. The kitchen and bar should be free of food and beverages and wiped down. All trash is to be removed and placed in the proper bins located in front of the estate. We take care of all other cleaning at no additional charge.
